A ward based tourism short film
We are keen to develop a ward based tourism short film outlining our;
- local natural resources
- harbours
- creeks and coastline
- beaches
-campsites
- restaurants
This would be both drone and land based.
The aim will be to host this short film on social media platforms, such as Youtube, Facebook, Tik Tock, Instagram and shared by local people in order to attract tourism to our area.
There is nothing of it's kind available for our ward area and this is a great opportunity to showcase our area in order to attract more people, which in turn increases our economic outputs, hopefully creates more roles and businessess to meet increased needs and demands alongside local pride in seeing our ward highighted in a short film.
Some part of the funds will be used for marketing purposes in order to push this short film out as far and wide as possible.
Why the contribution is important
Film and TV productions can be a powerful way to add proile to our tourism ofer, both at home and to help to showcase a our natural and cultural assets; inform, inspire and inluence travel decisions and help to market and grow local visitor economies.
The Regeneration Plan sets out a vision for the North Anglesey area and identifies five priority themes for investment by the County Council and its partners - North Anglesey Economic Regeneration Plan
As an area, we have suffered economic blow after blow, with major local employers moving out of our locality and reducing employment opportunities.
Tourism is a key economic area for Anglesey and this film will highlight our area's opportuities in a bi-lingual and modern manner.
Tourism plays an important role in providing jobs across North Anglesey. Tourism assets are numerous and include the 18th century Llynnon Mill and Parys Mountain whilst the Anglesey Coastal Path provides a key tourism route through the area. The Llyn Alaw reservoir is the largest lake on the Island and is used by visitors for bird watching and walking.
If more tourists come to our area and spend more locally, this will have a substantial economic benefit to our area. This in turn could create more jobs and hopefully reduce the down time weeks, mainly during Winter months where less visitors attend. We could market the area as ideal for cosy Winters in front of fires, with long coastal walks and wholesome holidays, with emphasis on local culture, high quality services and produce.
