Family events & Adults sessions for the Twrcelyn ward

This idea expands on the work we've been undertaking over the Years, which in the main, has been funded by grant funding.

We've seen the true value of how our events / sessions, delivered by both external facilitators and ourselves has positively impacted on our local community.

School holidays are a particularly challenging time in a number of ways - this includes increased costs as children are at home, increase in boredom due to the lack of things to do alongside the associated costs of childcare.

We are aware there is an appetitie locally by Adults wishing to develop craft skills such as Resin workshops, wreath making workshops and crochet classes.

Our aim would be to;

- cover events and sessions, delivered by external providers over the Christmas holidays and weekends. This will vary from dance sessions, a family fun day, craft sessions, local walks (weather permitting)

- engage with a qualified Youth Mentor in order to support the wellbeing of some of our children and young people.  A local company, YEM, provide sessions to young people on building resilience, wellbeing, confidence along with motivation and goal setting

- Develop a buggy fit delivered by a Sports professional

Why the contribution is important

1- Community workshops represent a unique convergence of diverse individuals, each bringing their own experiences, expertise, and aspirations to the table. The concept of collective growth is deeply rooted in the understanding that, as a community, we can achieve far more than we can as isolated individuals. This synergy of shared learning not only fosters personal development but also propels the community forward as a cohesive unit. By embracing the ethos of collective growth, community workshops become more than just a space for learning—they transform into incubators for innovation, collaboration, and mutual empowerment.

2. Networking Opportunities: Workshops provide a forum for individuals to connect with like-minded peers, industry experts, and potential collaborators. A coding workshop, for instance, could lead to the formation of a local developers' group or even spark the creation of a start-up.

3. Cultural Exchange: In culturally diverse communities, workshops serve as a melting pot of traditions and ideas, enriching the community's cultural tapestry. A cooking workshop featuring dishes from different countries can be a delicious way to celebrate and learn about cultural diversity.

4. Empowerment through Education: Educational workshops empower participants by equipping them with knowledge and skills for their livelihoods.

5. Community Problem-Solving: Workshops can address specific community issues by effort of participants
